A BYD driver in China was restrained and his solution was to drive in the air with the wheels

A BYD FCB Bao 8 has become a hero on Chinese social networks these days after being spotted driving down the road with one wheel raised off the ground. In the video we linked you, you can see the car with a clamp on one of the front wheels, so the driver decided to use the technology provided by his car to get out of the problem (so).

that has passed. Shared by CarNewsChina, the clip shows the SUV, which is sold outside China as the Denza B8, traveling down a two-lane road in the Chinese city of Jinshan. Everything is good for the moment, until you realize that one of the wheels of the car is raised because it has a clamp and the driver did not think of a better idea than to walk down the road and, supposedly, find a “new way” to avoid a parking fine. The video went viral on Chinese social networks this weekend.

Why is this possible? The trick is based on the Disus-P Ultra, BYD’s hydraulic body control suspension. The company presented it last May in a test case where the SUV picked up one wheel and continued on the other three. According to CarNewsChina, the vehicle has up to 200 mm of suspension adjustment travel, up to 300 mm of lift for an individual wheel and a maximum lifting capacity of 9 metric tons.

The interesting thing about this technology is that it allows wheel changes without the need to use a jack to lift the wheel. According to the media, BYD limits driving on three wheels to 15 km/h.

Waymo has arrived in Madrid. He has everything planned except what happened at Uber: taxis

About the car. The flash charge version of the BYD FCB Bao 8 was launched in China last May at 419,800 yuan (around 56,000 euros). It is a plug-in hybrid with a 46.7 kWh battery, providing an electric range of up to 120 km in the CLTC cycle (the protocol used by the country to measure a vehicle’s range) and a 2.0-liter, 272 HP turbocharged engine. The company maintains a total combined range of around 1,380 km.

Unintended use. Although the video is quite funny and shows how the driver can escape from a parking lot trap, it should also be taken into account that this is such an unimaginable situation that it turns into completely free publicity for BYD and its DiSus-P Ultra system. Can you imagine how many things can be done with this technology besides changing the wheel?
