They beat OpenAI and Anthropic to the right among AI agents. Especially by WhatsApp

Anthropologie Claude introduces Duet, an active agent in preview for professionals and SMEs. It comes six weeks after Muse, from Meta and three weeks after OpenAI.

The two reference laboratories were the latest to reach an area where Meta has already attracted millions of users.

which happened. Duet monitors connected apps, sends a summary every morning, and continues working from your own computer in the cloud even when the app is closed. It inherits Claude’s memory and connectors, so it requires very little configuration for those who already know.

  • Access: Pro and Max, US only and via waiting list.
  • Acknowledged Limitations: Anthropic acknowledges that personal tasks, such as purchasing tickets, are not its specialty.

contrast. Muse was launched on September 8 between a free plan and WhatsApp, and Meta has marketed it as an agent for everyone, including those who rarely handle technology. It crossed five million downloads in 22 days and had more than three million weekly users as of early October.

Instinct, because it doesn’t have one, not even an app: you write to it via WhatsApp or iMessage It’s much smaller, but its founder claims it’s already approaching $1 billion in transactions annually, half of which is in travel.

Big Tech wants us all to have our own personal AI agents. It's a great idea with one big problem: privacy

between the lines. The difference is in order.

Anthropologie and OpenAI have shown their agents at work. Goals and motivations, ongoing work. And tasks are what gripped those who had never delegated anything to AI.

money trail. Meta and instinct win when agents buy. Zuckerberg announced that Muse will remain free for most, and that Meta will charge merchants a small commission for each transaction. Explore a similar model of engagement. The person who charges the commission can pay it to the agent.

Anthropologie and OpenAI on the other hand keep it in their subscriptions. Dots starts at $100, with one agent per user, and Pro customers in Europe are left out for now. Grok Bot, the first to arrive, followed that logic: It debuted in August on a $300 plan and was designed for work teams before cheaper plans opened up.

Yes, but. The preview is in small print. Meta devotes half of its daily internal ad impressions to Muse, and Amazon closed its doors a month ago. Interest in computing was small, with about 100,000 free users.

That margin favors Anthropic. Duet asks users before acting, and if messengers start suspending accounts and unauthorized purchases, the discretion that holds them back today could become their best selling argument.
