He who warns is not a traitor, but Apple betrayed us a little with the palm. We knew that this Wednesday, October 28, Apple would present new devices, and we absolutely knew that it would be the iPad Mini OLED, the new Macs with the M6, and the MacBook Pro with an OLED touch panel. However, it seems that Apple is clear that the most special is the model with a touch screen and decided to leave all the spotlight for itself on Wednesday.
Thus, yesterday it presented the new iPad mini which, in addition to the OLED screen, mounts the spectacular A20 Pro SoC that we have already tested in the analysis of the iPhone 18 Pro Max. And today it released two Mac refreshes that haven’t yet made the jump to the M6 chip that debuted a few months ago with the Mac mini.
Next, we go over all the details on both the MacBook Pro M6 and the iMac M6.
New Mac with M6
“13 times faster than M1 on AI tasks.” Apple insists all new M SoCs are comparable to the first generation when six years have passed and not designed for the M1. That said, the main change in this MacBook Pro is, obviously, the processor.

The M6 has a 12-core CPU Consists of two high-power cores, four for performance and six for efficiency. The GPU has 12 cores and starts with 16 GB of RAM with 153 GB/s bandwidth, but we can expand it to 24 or 32 with 170 GB/s bandwidth.
Storage is still 1, 2 or 4 TB and where they’ve updated is on Wi-Fi From a Wi-Fi 6e that already screamed at us in last year’s model, We finally moved to Wi-Fi 7 Comparable to the M5 Pro and M5 Max models.
And an important detail: the only MacBook Pro that has the new M6 processor is the 14-inch model. If we go to 16 inches, the only options are the M5 Pro and Max, whose renewal we will see in early 2027.

If we look at the iMac M6, the changes are basically the same. Wi-Fi 7 and a new version of the processor which, on this occasion, is described as five times faster for AI tasks than the iMac M4. A portion of 16 GB of RAM and this Blushing 256 GB of storage.
Now, here we have two versions of the M6:
- Same as MacBook Pro with 12 cores in both CPU and GPU.
- 10 GPU cores (one core less for both performance and efficiency) and a trimmed version with 10 GPU cores.
In both cases the memory bandwidth is 170 GB/s.
New iMac M6 and MacBook Pro M6 pricing and launch
As usual, this is a renewal “because it has to be done.” They already put the M6 between the two Macs and it’s time for the ones that are left to take it. However, the fact that Apple chose to update only the 14-inch model tells us that the 16-inch model is going to be focused on more professional users who opt for the most capable and expensive processor.

Speaking of price, The 14-inch MacBook Pro M6 goes up to 100 euros Prices compared to the previous generation, starting at 2,329 euros for its 1 TB version, with 16 GB of RAM and without the nanotextured screen.
The iMac M6 is a pyrrhic victory because we have to celebrate that they’re not raising the price… more than they already did this summer. Because if the iMac M4 came two years ago in October at 1,519 euros, this summer it rose by 300 euros to 1,819 euros. This is the price of the iMac with the 10-core M6 and, if we want the 12-core one, we have to spend 2,019 euros.
For a desktop PC designed for creative applications… 256 GB of memory.

One and the other can be reserved starting this October 28 and will go on sale next November 6
