Today, November 5, is the date marked on DTT’s calendar to finally make the jump to 4K. That doesn’t mean all channels will broadcast in UHD from now on, but some channels will. Also, a new channel begins its journey: La Septima.
To access them, if you watch DTT through an antenna, you must have a compatible television and restart it. But many usually watch DTT through a decoder or associated app on your operator’s television platform.
If this is the case for you, you don’t have to do anything to start enjoying the new channels as Movistar Plus, Orange TV and Vodafone TV will include them directly. Although we have warned you in advance that they will not arrive at the same time as DTT.

The change started two days ago. Last Tuesday, November 3, RTVE made a previous adjustment to its main frequency (RGE1), temporarily removing the children’s channel Clan, so that RGE1 has five HD services for a limited time instead of the previous four.
At the same time, the frequencies of RTVE’s Second Space (RGE2) were adapted to prepare for the change coming today, November 5: the final jump from the RGE2 multiplex to the new DVB-T2 broadcast format.
What is happening in DTT today? If you have a 4K TV with a tuner compatible with DVB-T2 and HEVC/H.265 codecs, you will need to retune it to watch the new channels in Ultra High Definition. In addition to La1 UHD, which has already been broadcasting in that quality since 2024, today at 8:00 La2 UHD, Antena 3 UHD, Cuatro UHD, Telecinco UHD and La Sexta UHD start their broadcasts.
Also, channels like Clan, DKISS, Atreseries, Be Mad and Boing change frequency. So, even if you don’t have a television compatible with the new UHD channels, you will also have to return to continue watching the channels that have changed positions and the new channel La Séptima, which starts broadcasting at 12:00.

What will happen if you see DTT on pay television? You don’t have to do anything, your operator will automatically include the new channels in your television schedule. But, unfortunately, that will not happen today. As already happened with La1 UHD, the new UHD channels will gradually reach payment platforms
The Orange TV team confirmed to us that it is working “as soon as possible” to include La2, Antena 3, La Sexta, Cuatro and Telecinco on the same dial in 4K/UHD quality that their respective HD channels now occupy. Vodafone, Digi and Movistar Plus, have not confirmed to us at the moment which new UHD DTT channels they will include and when they will do so.
What we do know is that La Septima reached an agreement in extremism With Movistar, Orange, Vodafone and Digi To be present on their respective television platforms, that will force them to move some dials. The network itself has confirmed that it will broadcast live on YouTube and Movistar Plus, “and soon, also on Orange TV, Vodafone TV and Digi TV.
