TCL C7L: What are the advantages of a MiniLED television over conventional LED televisions?
TCL C7L is a MiniLED backlit TV. This already represents a significant leap in quality over conventional LED televisions. Its backlighting is much larger and has more limited diodes, which means less precise light control. MiniLEDs involve much smaller diodes and more to jump, so there is much more precise control of the light.
A simple example to understand the difference: imagine a movie with a dark scene. Ideally, the black background should be kept as dark as possible, and LED televisions usually show it as a gray color. MiniLED televisions, because of the smaller diodes, have more control over turning the lights on or off in certain areas of the television. Thus achieving a deep black. This is also due to its FALD architecture, which reaches 1,352 local dimming zones on the 75-inch model (1,152 on the 65-inch model and 800 on the 55-inch model).
This TCL MiniLED combines backlighting with so-called Super Quantum Dots (hence the ‘SQD’ abbreviation in the model name) and an Ultra Color Filter. This technology is, in essence, designed So that screen colors are more accurate and closer to reality.
Finally, another very important feature of the MiniLED backlight: a very high brightness level. This TCL C7L has a maximum brightness of up to 3,000 nits for the 65- and 75-inch models (it goes up to 2,700 nits on the 55-inch model). This means it delivers excellent HDR high-light performance even in very bright rooms. It should be noted that it has a 144 Hz native refresh rate, which makes it ideal for gaming.
