Dolce Gusto NEO is a capsule coffee machine that makes a commitment Completely new system Within the Dolce Gusto family. It has 15 bar pressure, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as automatic dose recognition. In the latte version that we analyzed, there is also a system to make the drink with milk so that it comes out frothy.
The difference with the classic Dolce Gusto is in the way the coffee is introduced. It still comes in capsules, but these are made from paper and are compostable, with the milk pouch stored in another compartment. This makes Not compatible with other Dolce Gusto capsules.

Our experience with Nescafé Dolce Gusto NEO Latte
Fancy design. NEO is a “weird” coffee maker that is unlike any other The Latte model we analyzed is large and with that I warn that you need to find a good place in the kitchen for it. I’ll leave it to everyone to draw their own conclusions as to whether she’s cute, beautiful, normal, ugly or very ugly. I think that it fits quite well with the modern style.

New operation. In NEO Latte (not even in NEO) you don’t have to calculate “by hand” how much water or capsules you need for each type of coffee. It has a system that automatically detects capsules and prepares them for that particular drink. Just insert the capsule into its corresponding compartment (and if it contains milk, the envelope also has its own compartment).
When we prepare a drink with milk, the coffee maker combines both ingredients to create recipes such as latte macchiato or cappuccino, including milk foam. It is a more automatic and comfortable system, although the disadvantage is that we have not yet found white label capsules for it (the ones sold by Nescafé are at the average price of those sold for other Dolce Gusto).

A mobile app to customize the drink. NEO also has a mobile app that connects to the coffee maker via WiFi and Bluetooth. From there you can access other functions such as checking machine information and managing rewards program points, as well as customize aspects such as beverage volume and its temperature.
Brewing a coffee isn’t essential, but it adds options that our traditional models don’t have. Personally, I find this a very positive point to personalize the drinks more. Also, it’s pretty intuitive (I tested it on both an iPhone and an Android mobile). Of course, I doubt I’ll ignore the app in the long run because of the convenience of doing it right from the coffee maker.
Best coffee in the galaxy? Nescafé says in its slogan that this is “probably” the case. And while I haven’t had the pleasure of traveling the galaxy (or even the entire world) to do it, I can say two things: it doesn’t serve the best coffee I’ve ever tasted, but it is one of the best coffee makers of its kind.
I have tried other Dolce Gustos, including the most premium ones, and I can say that the NEO is different to adapt the extraction of each drink. From an espresso to an American coffee. The taste isn’t as good as what you’ll find at a specialty coffee shop or other more manual extraction methods, but the result is more than convincing.

Cleaning. Used capsules accumulate in a removable tank that you empty when full (it also dumps excess water in there). Both this tank and the one used for clean water are easily removed and can be washed with a dishwasher without great difficulty. In principle also in an automatic dishwasher, although I don’t have one to test.
Nescafé Dolce Gusto NEO Latte, Xataka’s opinion
I found Nescafé Dolce Gusto NEO Latte An interesting and even natural evolution of the capsule coffee machine. Although I still think that it does not prepare the best coffee for the most purists, I think that it does not try to replace a manual coffee maker, but it takes an important step in its category without spending more time than you deserve to prepare a coffee.

The new system is not complicated It also has limitations. Maybe it’s a novelty and it will change in the coming months, but today only Nescafé itself sells capsules and sachets, thus making it impossible to buy cheap white brands. Fortunately, they are reasonably priced and of good quality.
Do I recommend it to you?

NEO Latte is designed for those who want to quickly prepare espresso, americano, cappuccino or any other similar drink. Without the complications of preparation and/or subsequent cleaning. But not for everyone with this profile, but for those looking for a little more quality than the traditional Dolce Gusto.
Now, if you already have a Dolce Gusto and don’t feel the need for something better, the NEO might not be for you. Or if you’re looking for maximum control over coffee extraction and quality, I doubt there’s a capsule coffee maker that delivers.
