Five days after Pedro Sanchez’s record, Gabriel Ruffian and Irene Montero gave ‘La Revuelta’ its second best quota. A month before the 29N, Broncano’s couch gathered more audience than the last RTVE electoral debate and the issue also left a question on the table: the passing through of Feijóo and Abascal should not be prevented. the chase Broncano
tour This Tuesday, Gabriel Ruffian and Irene Montero visited the set of ‘La Revuelta’. The show garnered 2,654,000 viewers and a 21.7% share, with a golden minute of 2,934,330 at 10:46 pm: its second best share and third most watched broadcast. ‘El Hormiguero’ stood 1,539,000 that night. Ruffian also repeated. On October 20, 2025, he was the first active politician to appear on the program, and that night it had already surpassed the season average of 387,000 viewers. This time the comeback is made with a more serious view on the horizon: the November 29 general election.
Sanchez data. The previous Thursday, Pedro Sánchez’s interview scored 4,387,000 viewers and 33.9%, with a golden minute of 4,761,000 at 10:59 pm The previous ceiling was Rosalia’s visit, with 2,706,000 viewers in November 2025. If Sanchez had a presidential breakout on a comedy program, the second political night wouldn’t have repeated the extraordinary audience, but it was 52,000 viewers short of the presidential record.

It is debated. Let’s compare that to one of Sanchez’s last appearances under comparable circumstances: the final debate of the 2023 campaign. On July 19, with Sánchez, Yolanda Díaz and Santiago Abascal on RTVE and without Physio on set, it collected 4,155,000 viewers and 34.6%, the lowest viewership of all debates collected by the statistics monitoring consultancy firm. Arguably, an interview with a humorous tone outsold the debate, which is much more serious and dense, by 232,000 people.
Political decline. And that’s where we can trace the drop in audience to face-to-face formats. The debate between Zapatero and Rajoy on February 25, 2008 had 13,043,000 viewers; 9,728,000 for Sanchez and Rajoy in 2015 and 5,911,000 for Sanchez and Feijo in 2023. The debate has traditionally been the most-watched broadcast of the campaign, but it’s no longer the only place where a candidate lets millions of voters see him. This year’s debate already has a date, November 16 at Mediaset, and it will undoubtedly be interesting to compare its results with those coming from Broncano or ‘El Hormiguero’.

You might be wondering what I’m doing here. In fact, regarding the Motos program, Sánchez hasn’t joined since June 2023 (and before that, it’s been seven years since the president sat down with Motos). And he has his reluctance: in an interview with Jordi Evole he accused the program of a conservative bias. The effort was worth it for ‘El Hormiguero’: it gathered 2,922,000 viewers. Of course, Feijóo surpassed him the next day with 3,079,000 and 25.9%. For this campaign, the rivalry with Broncano has spurred the Motos crowd to accept Sánchez: according to the presenter, he has called 18 times and left three messages for the PSOE since October 5. He set a limit, October 29, although Sánchez had already said in ‘La Revulta’ that “I will be where I am needed and go to Elvero.”
who were missing. Both Feijóo and Abascal were invited to ‘La Revuelta’ and neither responded. Ruffian and Montero bet that Abascal will go because “he’s a gamer”; Feiju, “No way.” It is worth remembering that in a letter to the media from Miguel Telador, the party conditioned Feijóo’s interviews on RTVE to self-produced spots without “production companies at the service of the PSOE”. Feijóo had already left his place in the 2023 RTVE debate incomplete, as the PSOE recalled when taking over the face-to-face session, and by 29N his party had decided that “there will be no four-way debate in RTVE.”

Abascal has another history: his interview with Motos in October 2019 attracted 4,049,000 viewers, more than Sanchez in 2023. He and Feijóo have already agreed to sit down with Jordi Wilde, another Broncano in his own right, and Sanchez has finally agreed to join. And if Sanchez can’t avoid Motos in 2023, now it’s Broncano’s couch that’s inevitable. Another factor is the perception that it will have an impact on the public. Mónica Planas summed it up in the air after the president’s visit to Broncano: “When politics filters into entertainment, it shapes perceptions through emotion.”
