Markus Persson has put it His Beverly Hills mansion has sold for $70 million (about 62.9 million euros). In 2014, the creator of “Minecraft” (known as “Notch”) also paid this amount in dollars for the house.
The chalet has eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. The total area is about 2,072 square meters. Also, it has a lift, cinema room and swimming pool. The owner added a recording studio and a private nightclub (with DJ booth and bar).
The house is situated on a plot of about 4,000 square meters. From it you can see Los Angeles. When Parsons bought it, it had a candy room (valued at $200,000), a 2,500-bottle wine cellar (stocked with cases of Dom Pérignon), and an art installation (complete with a chrome machine gun).
The 2014 seller was a developer said to specialize in extravagantly appointed mansions Bruce Makowski. His possessions included a collection of cars and motorcycles, including a Bugatti, a sailboat, and a helicopter (which was used in the 1980s series “Airwolf”).
The mansion comes back on the market at the same price

Parson’s operation was done at a time when houses without pre-buyers could easily exit the segment. After twelve years it returns to the market at the same nominal price. Now the luxury property market is less active.
Between December 2014 and September 2026, the median sales price of existing single-family homes in Los Angeles County more than doubled. Parsons’ 70 million is still the requested amount.
One of the agents in charge of the sale is Aaron Kirman. She explains that Marcus wants to get rid of her because she spends so little time in Los Angeles. According to Kirman, buyers in this segment want something different that is difficult to copy.
On the other hand, the 2014 purchase was related to interest from Beyoncé and Jay-Z. The couple visited the palace several times. In the end, Persson ended up buying it.

Selling Mojang to Microsoft
This Swedish programmer’s wealth comes from sales of “Minecraft” and Mojang. The game started releasing its first version in 2009. Its full version was released in 2011.
It is recognized as the best-selling video game by Guinness. In 2014 Microsoft agreed to buy Mojang for $2.5 billion (not the money Marcus personally received).
Kirman is sharing the sale of the mansion with Katia de los Reyes (Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California), Branden Williams and Rainey Williams (The Beverly Hills Estate).
